We can't tell you what he'll choose as his favourite poems in this discussion with Robyn Marsack, but we can guarantee you'll be riveted to this most eloquent of writers.

Nothing but the Poem...

Join us in the leafy Charlotte Square gardens for one of these 'Nothing but the Poem' sessions at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Just like the ones we run throughout the rest of the year at the SPL, all you need to do is come fresh to the texts of one or two poems, with time to read deeply and let new discoveries emerge. No special knowledge or preparation needed, and copies of the poem(s) provided.

Date: Thursday 14 or Thursday 21 August
Time: 11.00am
Cost: £12/£10

Meet the Reader In Residence

You'll be able to drop in and chat to the new Reader in Residence, Ryan Van Winkle on regular days and times, starting in the autumn. He'll be out and about in Edinburgh City Libraries and in the Scottish Poetry Library, to answer all your poetry reading questions.

'Office hours' at the Scottish Poetry Library are First Tuesday of each month, September-December 2008.
Time: 4-6pm
