About Dennis O'Driscoll

Dennis O'Driscoll. Photo by Kim HaughtonDennis O'Driscoll was born in Tipperary. His eight books of poetry include New and Selected Poems (Anvil Press, 2004), a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation, and Reality Check (Anvil Press, 2007), which was shortlisted for the
Irish Times /Poetry Now Prize 2008. A selection of his essays and reviews, Troubled Thoughts, Majestic Dreams (Gallery Press), was published in 2001, and he is the editor of the Bloodaxe Book of Poetry Quotations (2006).  His book, Stepping Stones: Interviews with Seamus Heaney, was published by Faber and Faber in 2008.  

About Penelope Shuttle

Penelope Shuttle Penelope Shuttle was born in 1947 in Middlesex, and has lived in Falmouth, Cornwall since 1970, a place which often inspires her current work. Her husband, Peter Redgrove, died in 2003, and her latest poetry collection, Redgrove's Wife (2006), is a book of lament and celebration about his life and death, and the loss of her father. Redgrove's Wife was shortlisted for the 2007 T. S. Eliot Prize and the Forward Poetry Prize (Best Poetry Collection of the Year). She has written many other collections of poetry and earlier novels.
