Reader in Residence Ryan Van Winkle discusses Blake's 'The Sick Rose' with sculptor Michael Bowdidge; poet Robert Alan Jamieson reflects on his recent collection of poems Nort Atlantik Drift and shares an audio excerpt from his DVD of the same name and Edinburgh-based band Saint Jude's Infirmary air their views on poetry, music and Scotland and play us the track 'Tacoma Radar' from the new album, This Has Been The Death Of Us, featuring Jack Vettriano.

Michael Bowdidge Michael Bowdidge is an artist who lives and works in Edinburgh. He has shown nationally and internationally over the past 20 years and is currently completing a practice-based PhD on assemblage sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art.

About Robert Alan Jamieson

Robert Alan JamiesonRobert Alan Jamieson was born in 1958 in the crofting community of Sandness on Shetland. He writes novels and poetry. His most recent poetry collection is called Nort Atlantik Drift (Luath, 2007), and his latest novel is forthcoming.

He currently teaches on the Creative Writing course at Edinburgh University.

Photo by Greig Christie Having spent approaching almost an eternity recording the second album, This Has Been The Death Of Us, just released this August in Edinburgh's National Portrait Gallery to excellent reviews. Ian Rankin has contributed lyrics and spoken word to the new album's closing track, 'Foot of the Walk', and the artist Jack Vettriano has contributed a unique painting - a self portrait inspired by single 'Goodbye Jack Vettriano' from the first album - for the cover.
